My role is to support you the way you want to be supported.

Each family is unique and my care will be tailored to your needs, desires and circumstances.

How I Can Help You ...

  • Preparation of snacks and meals, helping to ensure the family is well nourished.
  • Guidance and assistance with newborn care, such as diapering, bathing, swaddling and soothing.
  • Education on normal infant behavior and development.
  • Guidance on postpartum recovery and ways to facilitate healing.
  • Compassionate, non-judgmental support as you process the birth experience, adjust to life with a newborn, and work through all the big emotions that this transition can bring.
  • Caring for baby so that parent(s) can take a nap, shower, eat, or just have some much needed time to themselves.
  • Babywearing support.
  • Breast/chest feeding and/or bottle feeding support. This includes helping to identify baby’s hunger cues, guidance on positioning and proper latch, paced bottle feeding, and recognizing when baby is getting enough milk.
  • Errands (i.e. grocery store) to help keep things running smoothly.
  • Sibling care and integration. This may mean playing and reading with the other child(ren) while you bond with your new baby, or it may mean holding and soothing your baby so that you can connect with the other child(ren).
  • Light housekeeping (washing dishes, laundry, etc.).
  • Support via phone and email throughout the period of care.
  • Resources and referrals whenever appropriate or necessary.

The following examples are simply that: examples of ways in which I can support those who have given birth and/or are parenting a new baby. Families are created in many ways and not all of these needs will be relevant to all individuals.

I am currently offering postpartum support between 7am and 7pm. Shifts are typically 3-5 hours and can be scheduled at your convenience once your baby has arrived.

My rate is $30/hour, and I offer a 10% discount to families that purchase a package of 30 hours or more.
